Does the fx9 replace the fs7 in the line up or does it come in at a higher price point and sit above it the way the fs7ii did the 7? ie does the 7 remain in production ? The fx9 looks fantastic but I can't see a compelling reason to upgrade just yet, the fs7 is still a great camera but I wonder if the market will move on or will the fs7 remain a staple for a while yet.

Anyone can use any camera(s) to make money for themselves, including SD cameras if they are in a position to do so.

But as far as the popular opinion and the best-of-the-best in this class, the FS7 I/II will be permanently replaced in the next 6-12 months.

What do people predict about the competition with the C500mk2? Does Canon come out on top?

Odds are Sony will continue FS7 manufacturing, pricing it significantly below FX9, for another couple of years. Mark I is $6,000 now. MKII will probably be around that price, once FX9 is available.

That was the question I was asking, I was wondering if Sony would continue to sell it. Market perception is another thing. I'm going to stick with my fs7 though if I had the funds I'd grab the fz9 just for the autofocus. I think that will drive a lot of demand for this camera and open up a lot of possibilities in terms of shot possibilities for solo operators.

As the FX9 is double the price of a FS7 they do not play at the same level. FS7 makes sense to an operator owner while the FX9 might be to expensive.

What the FX9 means for the FS7 is second hand prices of the FS7 will plummet.

Even as they are about to launch thir complete ENG build up kit in Dec for both existing FS7s? They might but I doubt it somehow.

    Looks like a mess, TBH.

Nevertheless I didn't realize he/she was asking about the FS7/FS7 II's future in stores. Cameras always linger around for many years as we have seen.
