The new Video Assists 12G are completely different than the original VAs, which had several issues. The advantage of the new VA over the Atomos is you can record BRaw with the new VAs. The Atomos only records ProRes Raw, so the choice becomes more of which codec you want/need.

Just to clarify things a bit the O7Q does NOT record ProRes RAW. It has lots of wonderful features like supersampled HD from 4K but CD appears to no longer be updating the 7Q line making future ProRes RAW unlikely.

We have requested this but I do not know if/when it might happen.

    Thanks!
We are absolutely working together more closely on a great many things, but I'm still not at the same place that I am with the cameras I have been directly dealing with for some time.

Do you think these new recorders will have 5.7K RAW from an Eva1 like the atomos shogun or do you think it will be limited to 4K?

    Thanks mate!
They will absolutely do 5.7K30p RAW as well as 4K60p RAW. I believe they will also do 2K240p RAW but need to confirm this.

Please note that the Odyssey7Q / 7Q+ does not support RAW recording from the EVA1 at this time.

While you're asking, can you ask them to support variable frame rates? The Atomos products don't support the EVA1's VFR function, they only support the default frame rates (23.98/24/25/29.97/50/59.94)
