    Nice!

Wonder what a ‘complete’ kit will cost?

That's not too bad. Just a bit more than a Skypanel which started around $6500 if I recall and now is $5850.

I know those prices are just a guide but I imagine these are pretty unrealistic purchasing scenarios. I’d want EVERY SINGLE accessory! Will probably be like $20K AUD?

Those are USD prices. No idea what the various reflectors will cost individually, but I’m sure it’ll cost a pretty penny to collect the full set. I’m pretty okay with the pricing though. On a cost per watt front, that’s actually pretty comparable to what I had to shell out for my Area48s.

I can see DPs on commercials going nuts over this light (and music videos but they don’t count because they’re mostly v low budget.

If you don’t need RGB I’m struggling to see why you wouldn’t go with far cheaper white light options. It’s not like you can use the orbiter in multiple configurations at once vs. as I’m sure you know on set it’s also about having a large volume of lights. Maybe the small army Charles described will gain traction on large sets.

Bring RGB and effects back into the equation and this thing looks amazing - for a while there any RGB pretty much only came from a skypanel, even though a 2x1 panel wasn’t always the ideal sized source. And again with lighting gags I imagine it’ll be a go-to because of the versatility i.e. more accurately matching the source you’re recreating gives a more believable result (though not always). I don’t know if this would work but for a cop car, maybe 2 orbiters with a gap would be better than just splitting one skypanel in half? That’s one thing though, there’s probably no distributing “zones” like with panels...

    What do you think?

I think the sheer versatility will make them hugely appealing. Everywhere you need a light, you just plonk an Orbiter and run power to it, then just pick modifiers, colour and intensity at your leisure. I can see not having to be so specific with the fixture you call for, being a real boon for speed of lighting setups.
