    Please be new lights!

Is this what you're going from - https://www.arri.com/en/company/arri...ri-at-ibc-2019?

Sony Alpha Rumors are picking up more cross talk on FX-9 (probably that September, 13th presser, I reckon) and FX-6 about a year from now. They are sort of kind based on FS-7 and FS-5 respectively but FX-9 is supposed to be full frame.

Is it a camera though? I'm thinking a new COB-based LED light.

Grasping at straws here... But if that’s the case, it could be lights specifically tuned(or tuneable) to either Arri sensors or other sensors, as well. Like what Litemats demo’d last year.

Thats an interesting thought. Are you saying the thing part that looks like lens mount is actually for lighting modifiers? Could well be actually...

I can see using an S35 mode for most things and going up to FF for things like sit down interviews, but if it’s going to come at a higher cost for 6-8k and a larger sensor, then you’re losing the magic that makes the FS7 special in the first place.
Walking around CineGear 2019, I got a sense that all logic and reason are gone in our industry. The industry has deemed that anything short of 6K is subpar and for the most part, anything that isn't FF is yesterday's news. Makes no sense, unless you have a healthy skepticism about industry marketing and realize
that our entire community has fallen right in line with a marketing strategy that's pushing features and "innovation" that VERY few actually need. We really are in the Emporers New Clothes phase with technology. It will eventually change and actually begin to evolve because they can't just keep pushing pointless resolution jumps forever.
But for now, bigger and bigger sensors with ever increasing resolution is what passes for "innovation".
It's a business first and a creative outlet second.

If the FX9 rumour is true and it will have face and eye AF as the new A7 cameras as SonyAlphaRumours are claiming I’m gonna order one right away. If it also has IBIS its pretty much my dream camera.
And finally the PZ 28-135 f4 lens will have a camera to match it!

EDIT: I'm so excited about the possibility of the FX9, I booked a hotel! Looks like I'll be at IBC/Amsterdam 15th to 18th of Sep. Who else is going???
