I didn't properly look into these lights until recently. I think they look awesome.

I'd go with the sl1 or the maxi (supposedly shipping in October). I think if lower light levels of the mini are acceptable, I'd probably go with a handful of tubes e.g. Astera Helios if they're as well-received as the Titans.

Comparing the maxi to a skypanel (s60), it's less bright but just over twice the surface area and weighs less, while also being a more desirable shape in many situations.

They've done away with the folding design of the maxi from the SWITCH line. Maybe part of it is to make it easier to mount several together then hopefully sell bulk panels to large productions?

Is there enough of a difference between the sl1/maxi?

The drivers look really well designed and I like that you can mount the power supply/battery to the light or keep it off the unit. I downloaded the app and am extremely impressed (you don't need a light to try it). Maybe other apps are similar but check the dimming, it's so smooth and you can continue outside the box for a smooth 0-100 with your thumb.

I sound like a DMG salesperson! I just haven't been this interested in a particular light for a while. Or maybe I just want to hang out in the lighting section because this is the last safe place?

    Thoughts?

I've owned 2 Minis for the last 3yrs to replace my Divas. Solid, great skin tones and great after sale service. SL1 have the shape of a 4ft 4 bank, Maxi I've seen one, more like square shapes, more cumbersome to drag around.

Nice. Is there anything you don't like about the minis?

Re maxi, are you talking about the switch? I don't think the Mix has the same folding design.

    Dimensions:

    SL1 Mix: 44 x 8 x 1.4 ‘’
    maxi mix: 47 x 14 x 3.3‘’
    maxi switch: 4'x2.2'x0.8"
