    Why an EF mount?! WHY?!

These things are no good to me if I can't pop normal lenses on them :/

Because 10,000,000 others use the lenses.

So it's either make a camera for 10 people, or 10 million.

haha...oh, I could have easily bought one, but it's not for me though.

But 5 years ago I'd be up all night reading and thinking about it.

Its just a reallly bad engineering choice. Having all that space between the rear element and chip compromises everything. They would be better with canon R or whatever it is. Id go MFT myself.

Of course if the AF is really great that might be a different thing.

    I mean...it's been like 30 years, lol.

But the RF mount should be the future; just need time to transition people, which could take a while for Canon to do that.

At $2500, you'd think 10,000,000 people could afford to adapt their EF mount lenses to it - saving this new motion-picture camera from having to be so violently compromised in terms of lens options for motion-picture work.

Well, in terms of lens options it would have the most in the world with the EF mount, but maybe just not the ones you're personally interested in.

    There are no other choices.

    - BM is not borrowing 'Variable Scan Mapping' technology from JVC
    - PL makes no money for anyone besides ARRI
    - Sony is not letting them use the E-mount
    - Camera was probably finished way before the RF mount was announced
    - Nikon...no.

The EF mount is always the most logical choice no matter how you/we feel about it.

    Totally agreed.

Nothing with a fixed EF mount should call itself a cinema camera.
