Blackmagic has a history of slashing prices aggressively.

Grant - since day 1 - has mentioned one of his goals was to provide high-quality motion picture capturing for everyone.

That is a sharp lens I always wanted, for the stabilization, much prefer to the 24-105 F2.8-4L except for the lack of sealing, have to be careful the extending/retracting lens barrel doesn't "pump" dust on the sensor, but otherwise I look forward to your test of this lens.

If it's like the other cameras, lenses don't have access to the sensor as they are separated by an IR filter.

Good point but dust in there is never good.

If they cut it to $2000 and $1000 it will be pretty hard for me not to purchase.

Lots of news lately about awesome new cameras and for me the biggest one is that LensProToGo tested the p6k and it has a lot more latitude than the p4k, almost matching the UMP. Now I want a new camera. And it requires new lenses. Oh crap. T_____T

LensProToGo's exposure recovery tests are one of my favorites to watch. Granted you will not shoot something over/underexposed by 4 or 5 stops by choice, but it's still a great test to show the capabilities of a camera's sensor and codec.

For reference, here is the P4K:

    Here is the UMP G2:

    Here is the Alexa Mini:

Here is the RED Ranger Monstro:

You can watch and compare against a variety of other cameras (RED Gemini, C200, Varicam, EVA1, Fuji X-T3, Lumix S1, etc.) from their playlist here:
