Same boat, I know they aren't killer primes. But I can't drop $30k for a set of lenses and they would mechanically be another level from my still primes.

For those of you in LA, I'm wondering if there is a 'share your lens/equipment' group in LA. Having a large group people concentrated in one area, it would seem logical to have a group that gets together and let's each other borrow equipment to play with and learn. Sort of a Cars and Coffee for camera people.

(sorry James, I couldn't help but work in a car reference.)

Haha, no, it’s all good. I didn’t really get what you were trying to say until you mentioned cars.

I'm a genius. I should go to the Mideast talks and use car references. Peace terms would be established within a day.

Ah, now I understand why James liked that car thread in the Cafe lol.

Gotta go edit some Camaro and Firebird video when I'd rather be editing Ferrari video ;)

Haven't you heard, LA is the world capital for self-absorbed, selfish and narcissitic people?
JK, actually I know several people in LA that I have done this with. We don't just loan
out our gear for free but we will get together to shoot some tests and
play with various gear when both of us have down time.

Fujinon Premista 28-100mm T2.9 is pretty amazing.

Saw it in a few trade shows last year, and was pretty much immediately taken by the performance and aesthetic qualities.

    Size
    Weight
    Precision
    Colour
    Beauty

    It is all there.

Other than speed, it really had much of the beauty normally only found in primes.

Irix Cine lenses all low ley introduced a set of modern ff35 cine lenses:

First saw this brand in Europe. They had an insanely wide ff35 lens on display. One of those lenses that you had to be careful with your fingers when placing your hand near the camera. Almost had to turn the camera around just to pan out the subject. Ah, found it, the 11mm F4 FF35:

Many of us have used the 11-16mm F2.8 Tokina, but that is 11mm on APS-C, the irix is 11mm FF35!
