Quite sad cameras of this caliber are being recycled without thinking about it twice.

I look at it as he’s saving incredible equipment. Look at all of the historically important things that NASA has just thrown away, re-used or unknowingly auctioned off for pennies over the years, like original tapes of the moon landing. It just boggles the mind.

I consider myself lucky that I was able to own a Panavised camera of somekind for a little while. I do hope the people I sold it to are taking good care of it. It had a lot of studio history behind it.

Frankly I find the 9000 very ugly cosmetically. I get its just the 23 or 35 and SRW all in one but I much prefer the design to the 23 and 35.

I doubt a Genesis would pop up for sale anywhere.

you would be surprised.. i've seen fully working genesis bodies on ebay mutiple times, just didnt have the money to spend on them at the time. A guy offered me one with a broken operator screen for $500 but it was not worth the risk given its condition. Panavision stuff shows up on ebay more often than not. Thats how I got my hands on that modified Sony F900 and my GDP Gamma Box I use now with my F23.
