There has been constant rollouts of small inexpensive audio recorder widgets the last few years and this Roland is just one of many. I don't recollect that this one has been discussed here. But it has a few tricks that the others don't. It has some drawbacks as well. Read the review and discuss.

I thought this little recorder might garner some interest but it hit a deadzone here. The one really interesting feature of this recorder is it has bluetooth ability to monitor audio. Not sure about latency but at least there is some opportunity to monitor the audio on a remote recorder.

My Tascam DR22WL has a similar feature.

I honestly feel they just simply don't have a role at all on film set. Other than a fun toy for causal things.

You want at a minimum a Zoom F4, or if you're a broke high school film student then a Tascam DR60Dmk2 instead

I have some pro level gear, so this would be for those impossible moments, maybe when interference is raising havoc with your wireless. I imagine this as a substitute for something like a Tascam 10 series.

Didn't know the DR22 would do that.
