Interesting concept, that is kind of obvious and wondering why this wasn't done before. If the price comes down it will definitely be an attractive option, especially if you're shooting in a challenging environment and don't want the hassles of an electronic gimbal.

Looks cool but just way too big for smaller cameras if you like using a compact, one-handed gimbal.

Saw a lot of sway. Could be the operator or could be the device. Or a combo...

One of the advantages of the powered gimbal is that it can work slightly unbalanced. So you can zoom in or out. This won't do that. It will be like a Steadicam where it has to be balanced exactly. I guess it adds tilt capabilities to the Steadicam.

Yes, I'd call this a magnetic steadycam. A gimbal is a completely different thing.

A Steadicam IS a gimbal. Everyone just thinks 'electronic gimbals' when they hear/say "gimbal", now.

Well, ok, that's technically true. But I never heard anybody using the word gimbal to refer to a steadycam, and everybody uses it to refer to those DJI/zhiyun/etc things.

I was chatting with a full-time steadicam op the other day, and mentioned the gimbal his rig balances on, and it took a minute for him to come round and say "Oh, yeah, I guess it does"
