I was shooting pretty wide most of the time, but wide open I believe.

    Just very unpredictable.
Yep, I can sorta'-kinda' see that, but my eyes will be 79 years old in 10 days, and not so sharp! I'll take another look on my 43" 4K 60p monitor.

What's more important is you being out there and capturing great images and memories.

Who cares about how the AF works...it's just nerd talk for some of us who actually don't shoot much, lol, j/k...kind of.

Thanks guys - shamelessly playing the age card works every time!

I've been mainly a still's guy for 55+ years, but more and more video the past few years, starting with the GH1, and every iteration since, with a G9 mainly used now due to lighter weight and a little better IS.

Just a year ago I did a little doc on the rarest of penguins - the Yellow-eyed of the S. Is. of NZ, hand-holding the G9/Canon 100-400-II at full zoom, with 2X TC in the 2nd half with more distant parent with juveniles. Wife and I w/ daughter's family traversed very rocky beach, and I sat braced on a fortunately smooth rock as close as we could get. 4K60p rendered @50% slo-mo. ISO 800-3600
