I've started to discuss with him after he recently purchased the camera and published an unboxing video on youtube, but I don't have any other information. He had problems to work with the footage from XF705 and I gave him some help to see what he has shot. He owns a C200 and C300 too but has no experience with the new camera, and it's impossible for him to check his own footage, because he still doesn't have a copy of Davinci Resolve. We'll soon see new footage from another user of the XF705 facebook community, next week. Unfortunately they're just few videos and that's for sure they're not the best lookin' videos about this camera, so we must to be patient to see more footage.

Maybe tell him to put the camera into full auto mode to get the exposure and white balance in the ballpark.

Well, I've already told him similar suggestions, after I've edited his first video that was about 10 minutes long: it was completely overexposed, all blue over the picture and purple in the sky. Saved just few minutes from his first footage, after strong color correction in Resolve. He just bought the camera, and made some footage with it, without know anything about the right settings. I think it's better than nothing, next week we'll have more footage to examine.

Thanks for posting that footage. Clearly the camera operator needs to get comfortable with the camera, but it's appreciated nonetheless. If anything, it shows the extreme zoom range of the lens!

I think lots of people (me included) are anxiously waiting for proper test footage and reviews of the XF705.

You're welcome! Actually the best looking footage from XF705 was shot in November, made with a pre-release model:

After a request, I'd like to share the original footage in 4K resolution shot with pre-release model of XF705. I've edited the small clips and made a little color correction.

Very nice! Now we need a good low-light test to see how the XF705 does at ISO 1600, 3200 and 6400. If it's similar to the C100, I'll buy two of them!

Here's the RedShark review of the XF705, which includes test footage at the end of the second part, and a link to a dropbox folder with video files straight out of the camera:

I'm very impressed by the performance at +18db in low light. This is looking more and more like my next camera purchase for event video (but I'll rent it first to make sure it does what I need).
