Ray, what do you mean by "exposure value"? Do you mean the "EV" value when AE Shift is being used? For example, "-2.0EV".
If so, yes it can be displayed in the viewfinder. In fact, it is turned on by default and you can't turn it off unless you entirely clear the viewfinder of all displays. So if you're not seeing it, then you may not be using AE Shift correctly or you are talking about something else entirely different.

Is it just me or does anybody else think it is strange when someone asks for help and then disappears off into the woods never to be heard from again?

Hopefully, he got a last minute call and is now in Nambia shooting a feature on lithium mining. Or something. But yeah, other than that...what you said.

Undoubtedly. But I'd say it were also rude, not just strange.

Amazing isn't it. I help others in an editing forum and most of the times not even a thank you....just a disappearing act.
Think I'm going to post the same as Doug in the future.Panasonic AG AC-130, Sony FDR-AX-100 4K,
(Formely the Canon Xf-100 XF-300) SONY CX-150 GoPro HD-2 and Canon Hf S30.

For what it's worth, the OP hasn't logged in (at least according to his or her 'last activity') since their post in this thread.
Probably hasn't seen any of this...or does not feel like following-up (you can still read without logging in).

What's your point? What difference does it make if he asked a question and never bothered to come back to see it, or if he read the answer but never bothered to acknowledge it.

lol...just pointing it out since you actually took the time to follow up with a nonsensical post on why he or she didn't answer you like it really matters knowing very well how forums work after all these years.

If they didn't see it, they didn't see it, and we don't need to have everyone jump down their throat like they owe you and anyone else something.
You have a privilege of helping others on here and you don't do it to acknowledge your great presence or to hear, 'thank you'.
