    Hello,

I am shooting video for a project which should be exported at 1080@50i. Is there any advantage in shooting .mp4@50fps or shoud I stick with the better quality .mov@25fps?

I am exporting my final project with Premiere and wondering if it will do a better job at encoding 50fps to 50i compared to 25fps to 50i.

    Thanks!

    In summary, shoot 50fps.
. both the Canon .mov and the .mp4 use H264 video compression.
. although the 25p .mov has a higher maximum bitrate, best quality for 25p delivery and frame grabs, at 50i (let's call it 50i) your frames would consist of two identical half resolution fields.
. most NLE's correctly interpret 50fps to 50i. Still half resolution, but smoother motion.
