Agreed. I own a DVX200 and find it to be a very good camera. But low-light is not one of it's strong points. I have to say that mine does gain up fairly cleanly (especially compared to Panasonic cameras that I have previously owned), but I really dislike using anything above 6db. Better low-light capability would be most welcome. Also, I would welcome a bit more lens telephoto and wide angle capability.

Would it be possible for Panasonic to produce a DVX update with an
interchangeable MFT power zoom like the one on the existing DVX200? (hopefully a faster, lighter, and wider version of the lens)
If they did, any new DVX could potentially have an interchangeable powered zoom as well as allowing differet MFT lenses.
This would really set the camera apart from any GH5s and justify the price difference.

Seeing as they have a new hybrid AF system on the EVA1 that also allows electronic IS, would it be possible
to do the same for an interchangeable MFT powered Cine zoom lens?

Panasonic could potentially sell this lens as a package deal with any new DVX or seperatly if the GH5s could
    provide power to the lens.
If not a small external battery option attached to a tripod mount or collar may work to power the zoom.
Two new products and potential sales for Panasonic.

    Just thinking outloud !

I would say no because it would massively increase the cost of the camera and lens. Think "double the price" just to have interchangeable lenses.

Personally I think an upgraded DVX200 with the same fixed lens and internal 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 recording would be a lot more realistic.

I'd say panasonic should release the next iteration of the DVX camera on the DVX's 20th birthday . So thats 2022? :b

Ha, it's been two years since Panasonic introduced the DVX200, and a lot longer since the original DVX or HVX so I wouldn't rule out 2022.
Hopefully Panasonic will produce a killer (smaller and lighter) DVX300 or whatever it is to be called.

    Maybe a cross between the EVA1, XC15 and XF405.
Looking at the size of the new Canon XF405, I was impressed with the amount of features they managed to cram into the camera.
Of course it's only a 1" sensor and does not record 4K 10bit 4:2:2 internally, but nonetheless it's a great size for run and gun work.
Plus it's got SDI and HDMI connections too. A rotating side handle on the XF405 would be a nice feature.
I would be very happy with the EVA1 body shape for any new DVX300, if they could make it even smaller and lighter then all the better.

I do think the Panasonic EVA1 LCD implementation is a lot better than either of the other two cameras, and the Panasonic fixed lens should be superior too.
IMO any new DVX300 lens also needs to be a bit wider and faster than the competition (I would love if Panasonic made it an interchangeable MFT
mount and produced the first MFT Cinema (powered) zoom lens, but as mentioned before it prob wont happen)

Finally a 5" daylight viewable touchscreen would be the icing on the cake. The existing fold down sunhood would also serve to protect the screen.
I got my hands on an EVA1 recently and while the sun hood did the job, IMO it was a bit plastiky and I wonder how it will stand up
    to long time use.

Just spotted this on 4/3 rumors, the rumor seems to be most of what users on this forum have
been asking for so it may not be true. Or it could be a cut and paste job.
Obviously I hope it is true, time will tell.

    Canon 12-385mm F1.8-4.0 MFT Lens !

    Another interesting development.
If Canon produces this lens then it could be a game changer.

Hmmm... 385mm f/4.0 would mean a lens with a front element close to 100mm diameter, so I would expect this lens would be big, heavy, and expensive. This sounds like it would be a pro grade ENG or Cine lens.

According to m4/3 rumors, Panasonic will announce the GH5s on January 8th, so things might be cleared up in about 2 weeks.
