Yep, agree on all of your points. And yes, the C200 getting covered with ocean spray is probably considered "extreme".
FWIW, since the last round of repairs a few months ago, no problems or issues since then. Overall, I think I got a unit with a bad fan, they replaced it, now all is good.
The screen going dead was due to excess moisture getting into it.It's a business first and a creative outlet second.

Almost three years after puredrifting's original post, Canon has finally addressed at least two of these issues with firmware 1.0.7.1.00:
1. Compatible with EF Cinema Lens CN 10 x 25 IAS S/E1.
- Peripheral illumination / chromatic aberration correction has been added.
- Enable autofocus with Dual Pixel CMOS AF.
- Added support for "Dual Pixel Focus Guide" feature.
2. The ability to update the SDI/HDMI output from 59.94P to 29.97P (or 23.98P) has been added.
3. Simultaneous output of HDMI connector and 3G-SDI connector is supported.
4. Kelvin has been added to the color temperature step setting.Last edited by QuickHitRecord; 08-12-2020 at 11:24 PM.

Right, I was pretty happy to see that. That reminds me, need to download it and try that out.
I wish they had fixed all of the other problems on our list but the C200 probably won't be a current
model once the rumored RF models hit so I'd say this might be it as far as FW updates for the C200?It's a business first and a creative outlet second.

That is the sentence of 2020. In a way, we have finally a whole bunch of good cameras that meet very basic and good levels of quality. I am for the first time, happy with every camera release this year, and yet, it is odd that this year has seen the most complaints. Or is it just my perspective?

I thought you were the things could always be improved, dont let the camera companies know we're satisfied guy?
What have people been complaining about other than Canon's massive overheating problem? The c300iii/c500ii/fx9 were all pretty well received. People dinged Komodo for charging extra for early colored versions. People complained about A7SIII color science until they didnt. 12k was too much until it wasnt.

"Simultaneous output of HDMI connector and 3G-SDI connector is supported."
This is a very welcome update!

I was surprised to see new firmware already. It doesn't seem to add much:
Firmware Version 1.0.8.1.00 incorporates the following fix.
1. Fixes a phenomenon that may result in images not being displayed when a LM-V2 monitor is connected to the camera.
