    Yes, you can hook it up directly to the Atomos.

    I was quoted by Sony NZ Pro Video NZ$520ish for an upgrade. (so US$350ish??) But if you have the "R" version then bonus, you already have it! No need to pay for an upgrade.

    Oh bummer, so the 18-105mm (which I own! Love it) is a bad idea if recording externally? (which is the only way to use the FS700! ha)
