I gotta point out that as much as I'd love a 1DC mark II, I didn't buy this camera until it was $4-5k new. I'd never have bought one at the ridiculous $12k they were asking at launch.

$8k at most and it better have exposure aides, time code etc etc. Basically a C300 mk 2 in DSLR form...

Just recently got a 5D Mark IV. Sent it in for C-Log after a few days. Really love the camera. The 1D C was my dream body, but no autofocus in C-Log and very good DPAF in C-Log with the 5D was the killer. And, like the 1D C, a very good stills camera, but not restricted to 18 Megapixels.

    I think I will always be a DSLR-baby...still hoping for a 1DC II.
I am right there with you. The size of a camera was perfect with small primes. Never have I ever enjoyed just holding a camera more. the mirrorless, mid-size dslr, and high end modular cinema cameras cannot compare to the feeling. And to add to that, the images stood up beautifully.

Only thing I am hoping for, is a more sloped handle on the next one. I have never fully understood why pro dslr's would force the wrist to be at an angle by being so vertical, now that we are not shooting on film.

Using 1DX2 for short clips more and more. The 1DC is still the best backup B-camera for events with its dual CF card slot! Wish the AF can do better on it. No AF and auto ISO is a bit troubling haha

Guys I brought a 1DC used a couple of months back rigging with a 501 SMALLHD monitor. Love this camera. Attached a picture of this beauty.

What are people using to transcode to premiere pro (Software). 4k to pro res.

    Thanks

I dream for an 8K 1DC II everyday.

Not that I want or need to shoot 8K, but because I just know it would be a really special camera how the 1DC was back in the day with 4K when everyone else was still shooting SD or 720p.
