Will be using Zeiss Milvus lenses with EVA-1, and will adapt to the GH5 only. Don't plan to be using any S35 glass like the Sigma Art 18-35, which I understand in some cases the XL .64 may cause vignetting.

I am wondering what other considerations there might be and which would be the better fit, the standard .71 Ultra or the wider .64 XL?

With the speedbooser, my planned Milvus lens kit would convert to these focal lengths (FF equiv):

    Milvus 15 = 24mm S35 // 21mm M43 .71 Ultra // 19mm M43 .64 XL
    Milvus 21 = 34mm S35 // 30mm M43 .71 Ultra // 27mm M43 .64 XL
    Milvus 35 = 55mm S35 // 50mm M43 .71 Ultra // 45mm M43 .64 XL
    Milvus 50 = 80mm S35 // 71mm M43 .71 Ultra // 64mm M43 .64 XL
    Milvus 85 = 135mm S35 // 120mm M43 .71 Ultra // 109mm M43 .64 XL

Any thoughts on which may be a more overall useful composition? Any cons to the wider XL .64 booster (ie does it negatively impact quality of image in anyway vs the standard .71 ultra?)

You've done your maths wrong, either that, or I'm not understanding your table - I am two glasses down...

Well it reads like you are stating a Speed Booster will 'convert' a 15mm to 24mm when used on S35, well it did after a couple of glasses of cab sav...

Stating that a 15mm lens would appear with the same FOV on S35 as a 24mm lens on a FF body; and that with a speedbooster on a M43 chip (for the mentioned GH5 body), it would appear as the focal lengths that follow.

Suggest getting the Ultra so the lenses yield roughly the same FOV whether used on the GH5, or EVA-1.

I know this topic is pretty old, but I am too interested to see if there was any further optical degradation of the wider XL (0.64x) booster, against the "standard" 0.71 Ultra. So if the OP of this thread has done any testing with both over these years, would he be kind enough to share with us the results?

    Respectfully,
