So yep, I'm finally done with this short documentary. A journey I started 4 years ago. It took us hundreds of hours of planing and two trips to Mauritania to get enough footage. And then another two years to put it all together in my spare time. I'll be screening this at select film festivals for the next year but here's a preview for you guys.

The shooting conditions were pretty extreme. Mauritania has minimal infrastructure in place. We were traveling with only a crew of 4 and ultra low budget. Even though the Sony F35 package was reduced to a minimum, it was still a heavy beast that required a bunch of Vlock batteries, steel speedrail for the dana dolly, etc... but I did not want to compromise on image quality.

*edit: I am unable to embed the vimeo videos here, this sucks...

Looks wonderful Miguel. Will there be a voiceover component to the finished piece, or are you sticking with text and images?

Some nice Salgado-like images. Which I mean as a compliment.

    Awesome! Congratulations!

Great editing, including sound editing! Congrats to you and your crew for sticking through what looked like arduous locations --- not just making it through but bringing back great images and sound.
