    3. We do not currently support ARRI 6G SDI output, but HD-SDI 3G Dual link should work fine for ARRI 4K UHD up to 30p, but we have not tested this in our lab yet.

    I hope this helps.

The VariCam 35 and VariCam PURE output 4K as Quad-Link 3G-SDI. I believe the Odyssey doesn't accept this at frame rates other than 50p/60p.

Is there any estimate for an update to work with HLG for the Sony RAW? Really interested to do some HDR content using the Odyssey. Also interested if full 120fps will work if the added license for the FS5 is purchased.

    Dear Derek,

We want to support HLG, we are not ready to do so, and I do not have a timeframe yet.

If you have an FS5 or FS700 and our Raw Bundle, then we support 2K in 100, 120 fps, 200 and 240 fps continuously.

There is also a cached mode for 4K Apple ProRes at 100 fps and 120 fps. (This is a limited time recording due to the way the camera handles these modes internally.)

    Respectfully,

    Thanks Dan,
I totally blanked that 120 at 2K is already there and I guess this new update doesn't add 4K 120 on the output. Look forward to the HLG update whenever it may be. Currently makes more sense to shoot 4K 10bit Slog2 on the 7Q and grade for HDR than shoot internal 8 bit HLG.

Just got the new newsletter about Firmware v2017.07 for CD's Odyssey/Apollo - but it looks exactly like the previous 2017.06 update?1? - Everything in the text, new features, etc looks the same - FREE Titan HD, DNxHD 60p and 2K/240 Raw from the Vari LT? Was this an error in the mail-out or....

Did anyone receive the same email?

    Dear K0bayashi,

That is correct. The email that went out was to alert people of our free Titan HD Extract and Avid DNxHD Support.

Here is some information on our latest firmware release 2017.07.1713, and it combines into one the features that we added in June with the features and fixes that we just released.

    Dear Friends,

We now have a new firmware version for the Odyssey and Apollo, version 2017.07.1713.

This is an incremental release, adding a few features and some important fixes.

This is an important release, as some of the fixes are critical.

For clarity, in the release notes below, I have included features that we incorporated in our 2017.06 releases.

It is very important for Panasonic Varicam LT users to install this version since if one is using this camera, and using a non-smart lens, then the files will be corrupted.

It is also important for Avid DNxHD users to update to this version.
We found an error in our Apollo Mode where we would not properly handle lost of camera signals.

Please note that we made our Titan HD Extract Option free recently,
and we added Avid DNxHD support.
