    Dear Friends,

Today Convergent Design is lowering the price of the Odyssey7Q+ to $1,495 (US Price, in US Dollars) a $300 price reduction.

In addition, for everyone that purchases the Odyssey7Q+ or Apollo, we are adding our Titan HD Extract option for free.
    This was a $795 option.

    ==============

In addition, as a gift to our previous customers, we are providing everyone with an Odyssey7Q, Odyssey7Q+, or Apollo with our Titan HD Extract option also.

Titan HD Extract uses one 4K/Ultra-HD camera to create three High-Quality HD views.

The Titan HD Extract option allows one to take one camera to a shoot or event, and obtain three separate recordings (plus a live switch between the three views).

This feature can add a Multi-Camera look to otherwise boring single camera shoots, without the expense of three cameras and three recorders and a larger crew.

Of course, all three images come from one master 4K/UHD image, but this can be very effective.

Titan HD Extract option is very desirable when shooting interviews, conferences, and public meetings.
One view can be a wide shot, then one on the interviewer, and one on the guest or guests.

The HD Extract Windows (views) can be moved while recording.
This is actually very effective as we emulate a high-end Fluid Head Tripod. The moves are very smooth.

Please click on the following link for more information.

    https://www.convergent-design.com/titan

One view is a Super-Sample of the full image area
and two views are windows selected from the full image area.

These views can be panned smoothly through the 4K/UHD field
and the three views can be Live-Switched.

All four HD views can be recorded simultaneously in Apple ProRes with matching timecode and file names.
    Multicamera from a Single Source

    720p or 1080p Extraction

HDMI / or up to 6G-SDI Input Support

    Live Switched and Quad-Split Output

    Touchscreen Controls

Apple ProRes 422 Recording (in HQ, regular, LT and Proxy)

    Sony FS RAW 4K Support (FS5, FS7, FS7 Mark II, and FS700)

Supports Sony F5, F55 and other cameras that can output 4K or Ultra-HD video

    3D-LUT Support

    Respectfully,

    Dan Keaton

    Thanks Dan! Great news.

Question: Does Odyssey have any interest in an HDMI pocket recorder, such as the Ninja Star (which is now quite outdated)? A small, compact, pocket size recorder with no screen and minimal footprint that can simply relay record up to 4K 60p and FHD 240p to 10 bit 4:2:2 would be amazing for us lightweight camera users that want quality codecs but not the bulk of a screen. I believe this is an untapped market and some google searches show this as a product desired by a number of customers. Could record direct to new v90 SDXC cards or 2.5 SSD.

Just tossing that out there for the design team

That's awesome Dan! If we are a previous customer, how do we activate the Titan HD Extract feature?

    Dear Filmguy123,

We will consider it. Please note that a lot of users want a confidence monitor.

    Dear iHow,

When a new Odyssey7Q+ is registered on the www.convergent-design.com website,
one will receive both the Basic Activation Code plus the Titan HD Extract Activation Code.

These codes, when entered into the Odyssey7Q+ will activate the Odyssey7Q+ and unlock the Titan HD Extract feature.

    =============

As of now, when an Odyssey7Q, Odyssey7Q+ or Apollo owner:

    1. Navigates to www.convergent-design.com website,
    2. Logs in to the website (click in the upper left-hand corner to login)
    3. Then Clicks on Account (in the upper right-hand area of the webpage)
    4. Then Clicks on My Devices
    5. Then, the serial number(s) of their device(s) will show up with the Titan HD Extract activation codes.

And Convergent Design at 720-221-3861 (Option 2) will be happy to assist.

    Respectfully,

Noted! Likewise, note that because the users that want this REALLY want it, and there are no other options on the market, you could make up for loss in volume sales by pricing it higher. I would pay $1000 for a screenless recording box like this. For those wanting this product its about utility, not cost savings. I understand it may be a bit more of a niche, but hopefully it could still be a profitable one...

    Thanks for the consideration!

    +1 for a compact 5" version...

All these monitor options, etc. are way too large for many run'n'gun shooters, live events, docu work, etc. Huge (untapped) market of ppl there were size/weight/portability is paramount. A 5" version + a pocket recorder version would be amazing!!
