Ours turned up yesterday PM from ProAV UK.

Not had much time to play yet but first impressions are good. We purchased the XLR bundle too as it just looks so much more elegant than a sound devices box with extra battery fastened underneath.

The GH4 have been our most used cameras even set against ownership of a dvx200 and a pair Reds. The secret was a natural picture profile that tried to emulate to the look of a Red Epic. We've always been happy with the footage. I hope we can do something similar with the 5.

Like all evolutionary products you hope they keep the best stuff and ditch the poor. First thing i notice is how there are loads of menu options - which i still find overwhelming on the 4. But they are grouped differently this time. Will still take a while.

You can't help but notice even from looking at the menu how smooth the new screens are. The Gh4s were good but this takes it to a new level.

I love the layout of the new buttons and the joystick makes a lot of sense. Again just minor tweaks.

Peaking seems a lot more precise. I hope too you can turn off that focus touch screen box you never could from the 4.

I quickly put on the XLR unit, very tidy and compact. Not sure whether I will miss the metering and general usability of the sound devices mixer but I won't miss anything else about it.

That's it for now, more later today.

Anyone want me to check anything?

(Mods there is no GH5 prefix)

I'm wondering if you can tell how many degrees of rotation on each axis the IBIS absorbs.

Yes, you would. Way beyond the scope of a messageboard favor.

It would also vary between different focal lengths.

Mine arrived in Arkansas today from the UK. It is all I had hoped for. I had thought the G85 I used for a month before returning was a nice step up from my hacked GH2; but this is in another realm altogether.

I am not a pro, just a camera enthusiast that enjoys trying different things both video and stills. For some there are probably many shortcomings and things that want to be different. For me it is more than enough for family usage, YMMV. This will keep me entertained for a long time. Many setting and features to explore. And with 6 lens to chose from the list of things to experiment with is long!

In the 9 hours I have had to work with it, both videos and stills have really impressed me. I will probably never use V-log, the 8bit is fine for my usage and enjoyment on 4K monitors and TVs.

You're a little early for an April Fool's day joke question, Paul!

Ok, Ok. I got carried away. I just figured everyone had an IBIS measurometer in their camera bag.

Hi. Since there's no crop factor anymore in 4k, could you check if there are any functions to adjust the sensor to the lens (some adapted lenses) to avoid vignetting other than the 2x & 4x zoom in or telephoto mode (unless it's more adjustable than just "on" and "off") ?

    Thanks to let me know
