Leaked pics of the Klingons don't bode well:

And concept art for their ships:

So, in this show that's supposed to be set in the "prime timeline," only a few years before TOS, they've completely, er, "reimagined" the Klingons into insectoids. Chances are, their ships will be filled with the typical snot cobwebs.

Makes me wish they'd put the energy and creativity into something... new. Why can't people let Star Trek (and Star Wars, and the comic books...) go? How many retellings can one story take?

It's always the same. But different.

If those are indeed Klingons, it's about the same as doing a new Star Wars project and changing Wookies into reptiles.

Wait the most confusing thing here is one of those screencaps says "netflix" in the corner. Thought this show was ONLY going to be on the CBS paid app/channel?

Yeah, that's insane. For continuity's sake alone, if it's taking place right at the TOS timeline, then surely the Klingons would have to look like this, right?

I don't think these Klingons look that different from how they were portrayed in STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS http://cdn1.ssninsider.com/wp-conten...o-darkness.jpg

Not that that movie had anything about it that was particularly worth copying.

How do we know these are supposed to be klingons?
