Hi,
to avoid posting something that violates the spirit or the rules of this forum, I wanted to ask if it is OK to post about products one is associated with, as long as they bring something to the table that helps or is interesting to the DVXUser filmmaking community.
In this case I wanted to bring the availability of a new product for filmmakers to the attention of the community by posting in ANNOUNCEMENTS & NEWS - Industry News & Information and wanted to know upfront, if that is OK. I am also a filmmaker using this product btw..
Thanks,
Robert

Hmm, I was thinking about that as I was sitting in my Mercedes while drinking a bottle of Red Bull and eating a Big Mac. A Good Year blimp flew overhead. In the distance, an Amtrac thundered by. I checked the cNBC finance page on my iPhone. As I felt a little tired, I checked into a Holiday Inn Express. Turned on their flat screen Panasonic TV. They were showing an infomercial. And I couldn't figure what for.

Posting about products, of course, is completely fine. Though, as you indicated, if you are associated with a product/company, then things may be a little different.
Obviously, disclosing that fact is rule #1, which you have done (and, I appreciate that).
Beyond that, it kind of depends on the nature of your post as to whether or not it would fall under the commercial guidelines for the site. If you want to shoot me a private message with a little more info, we can talk about it.
