Edius has been ahead of the curve for the past 10 years, and keeps getting better.

For me Edius 9 is not a great improvement over 8.5 , so I will hold back

Edius is a great piece of software but 'ahead of the curve' is not one of its strong points. It is rock solid with great format support and very quick editing and turnaround. Imho it is struggling to keep pace with the Adobe's of the world because it is tied to the newsroom. Also, they are kind of in unchartered water with this pay up front upgrade model without the planned feature list! Kind of like "just trust us". They have delivered in the past but I think the things holding them back are systemic in nature.

I agree with part of what Bassman stated. I don't think Edius is ahead of the curve. But it is a rock solid platform that allows me to do quick edits reliably. Also, once you buy the software it is yours. None of the Adobe subscription nonsense. I currently have Edius 8.5 Work Group and it does everything I need it to. Other folks have other needs thus no one software fits all.
