    Hey man,

I enjoyed your flick, it held my attention and looked really good. The lead guy was pretty great too - fun to watch him go through his day. Ending worked for me as well.

Only complaint here was that I wished a bit more happened. I think the concept was there, and could've been taken much further. For example, when he was brushing his teeth, I was just waiting for them to start falling out! Little stuff like that.

All in all, really nice job and looking forward to seeing more from you.

I was watching the films in alphabetical order, so I had watched quite a few before yours ... I ranked yours near the top with regards to score. Good story, funny little twist. Pretty good production value.

NICE neck popping SFX, eyes rolling back in head. Once the mom said she hadn't seen him since the funeral, I could tell where this was going, but still looked forward to it.

I don't know if the newscasters were supposed to come across as real or not, but more often than not they didn't. Just about my only critique, really.

    hey
I really liked the ending on this one. It was just a sudden change. I had a feeling like he was a zombie but wasnt sure because he didnt have all the make up on. Yeah the news guys were kind of wierd.

I think the ending was a let-down after all the setup. Don't take this too much to heart, as I'm sure a lot of people will love the ending. The coffin scene just make me go 'wow'. I really thought you were going to do something interesting about the psychological effect of being undead, but then it turned into a gag.

I think you nailed the low-key setup with your quiet framing and visuals. The television actors weren't great, but they were alright most of the time (that sheriff was a bit over the top, but not enough to make me lose interest). The makeup was strange, but good enough. Some of the lines were too on the nose (wasting your.... life away). Oh, and the editing during the moaning zombie titled-camera scene was too aggressive.

Overall, I'd say you've got a good visual sense (though you're better with stillness than action), but I'd like to see you with different material. Good job, though, for a five-minute zombie film.

Cool idea. Shot very well. I like the closeup of him yawning right out of bed. You did a great job with the news as far as presentation, but the actors didnt have that newscaster tone to them. All the hints in the news and grandma’s phone message were a little too obvious.

Thanks for the comments. I did have more events written, but had to cut some. If I had to do it again, maybe I would've cut different scenes.

LOL! I was the news caster.

Yeah, he wasn't rotting yet, so he had just a little white on and digital selective color removal. One funny thing about that was he had a massive sun burn on the back of his neck. Thank God for color replace in Premiere, but even with that, you can still see some red.

The makeup was a no-budget-corn-starch-j-e-l-l-o-mixture. We had a blast putting it on. Maybe some liquid latex next time.

This was my second short and definitely not my last.

I've learned it's very hard to predict with a twist ending whether you're giving away too much information. I was leaning toward your opinion while editing. I originally had the movie tentatively titled "Joe Zombie", but I knew if I had any chance left at surprising anyone, that title would have to change.

    Nice little film.

I think you are on to a solid idea...one that I could see expanded on. I feel that a little less predictability would have helped the plot along (something keeping in the spirit of "Sixth Sense")

I agree. Maybe it would've been a little less predictable outside a "Zombiefest" of films. You think? I should test it on some people who have no pretense.
