How are you using the GDP processor?
How did you know I got a GDP unit?! Did I mention it on here and forgot? Anywho, yeah I got one via Ebay and its amazing as hell! I'm using it with my SRW1 so when I capture I have a "near finished" look to edit with. Saves time and computer power.. the little box is pretty poo pooing amazing and with Panalog really lets you get the most out of things. It can have 3D Luts imported into it as well so very high possibilities to be had. Right now im just using it as it was intended, with the panalog curve.

Mike, I got a notification with a reply from you. It had details about the GDP. You must have edited the post after posting it. Looks like you are making some strides with that box. Post some clips stills when you get it all figured out. Would love to see the differences with SLog and to hear what you find are workflow advantages. And share that Panalog when you get a chance...

Will def share some footage once I get a workflow down i'm confident in sharing to you all . Just want to say, the F series group is probably the coolest and most supportive group i've interacted with in this site (no offense to others :b). You guys rule and i'm happy to be apart of a family of supporters of such amazing legacy equipment *sappy response over *

i'm visiting Mount Evans tomorrow which is the highest paved road in north america. On the fence about taking the rig up there and getting some vista shots. if i do, I will be working with Panalog and will report my results here on monday when I have some time off.

Before anyone goes off on the "Panavision" rant about stolen gear, Panavision's policy has changed they have been selling off loads of legacy gear the last 2 years. Can it handle 12-bit or it is at 10-bit level?

That is the guy I bought mine from. and Panavision made 2 PanaLogs.. one for their genesis and F35 which can handle 12bit and one for the F23 which is at 10bit. The F23 can not record in 12bit color like the Genesis and F35 can sadly.

The GDP Box works beautifully with the F23 and it's version of PanaLog. That little box is one of the single coolest things i've ever owned.

Also, you are right about Panavision.. They have been selling a crap ton of their old digital imaging gear for sometime. I would not have gotten my hands on that HD900F camera I had for a few months if it wasnt the case. My thoughts are when they were acquired a few years back by whatever company owns them now, they made Panavision ditch a bunch of old gear... I only say this because I watched PRG do it to VER when I was working there.. they went and sold so much inventory that was just sitting around in cases across the country. My F23 is a byproduct of that as its an ex-VER rental unit. Irony
