My original concept of a script supervisor was a person I did not have the budget for and will never use. I also thought it was a fabricated union job that was useless. But after watching parts of your video, I can see how important your job is. You also have one of the hardest jobs, due to the fact that you have to pay attention at all time, take notes, and determine what is relevant. I have a deep respect for what you do. Hopefully one day, I will be working on a major project and have the budget to use a person with your talent and skill. Thank you for posting.

    fascinating!

i learned a lot. talking head videos are often hard to get thru yet this was captivating even though it was describing a job many & or most would not be able to handle being a so anal and tedious.

best talking head education I've seen in a very long time!

respect for this guy in these videos.

Very nice. But to be realistic, not all budgets and not all genres allow for a specific position of Script Supervisor. The job still has to be done, but it's just done by others, and of course, often worse - but well, that's why hollywood productions are different from indies who have to wear ten hats each. Ultimately, we've all seen both kinds of films. In super low budget films, with no specific person being "script supervisor" do you miss it, as an audience watching? Sometimes yes, sometimes no, like with everything including DOP - perhaps the director is DOP and editor and wardrobe, and crafty and script supervisor, and, and, and, and you see that in the finished product. YMMV.
