But why not? I think they are great for small cheapy cameras while travelling. Easy to setup, stable, no legs to fumble with, you can throw them at people. I considered making my own but the pod seems more durable then what I had in mind.

Tony, Dope video btw on your site. I watched all 3 of the previews. Damn. That's some exciting stuff. That was all caught on Film? or DVX?

On advantage to the bean bag is that there are places (tourist) that do not allow tripods (museums, sidewalk, etc.).

I think I might get one for those instances and more spontaneous ones.
