More Panasonic DVX200 info. These slides were taken from the "Panasonic Private Suite" at NAB 2015 where private demos are given to the invited. I didn't attend, but just found these online today and grabbed the images in case the source page gets pulled.

Among the things I read and noticed, (one of which people have been trying to speculate since the announcement); it WILL have 4:2:2 10bit (edit* it will OUTPUT to 4:2:2 10bit, (credit Darren Levine))... we can finally put that debate to rest.

well, it can output 10bit 4:2:2:, but internally looks like the same GH4 100mbit. if they stick to that, they would do well to get a shogun bundle discount

It is interesting that the 150mbps mode only works for 50p or 60p. Since 100mbps 4k is on the border in terms of quality on the GH4 I would have liked to see even 4k 24p be able to use 150mbps. This is one of the weak areas of the GH4 right now for 4k recording. While the 4k looks amazing the video is a little bit starved and could really benefit from the 150mbps. Since the came can handle 50p and 60p at 150mbps there is no hardware limitation to not also allow 24p to use 150mbps.

Thanks for posting. I notice the wide end of the lens gets crushed a bit in 4k and in UHD. I guess this means they are not using the entire sensor in HD?

Also noticed the lack of 720p60 recording outside of 9Mbps. I know everybody loves 4k etc... but I still see a place for 720p60 in live, longer form event work. File sizes do matter. Shame that it is excluded.

After seeing this, I do not hold out much hope for 10bit 4:2:2 internal HD recording. It seems that Panasonic is seeing the GH4 and the DVC200 as being equal or in the same class.

I find it kind of odd that there is no option for 1080p/24 at 100Mb/s like the GH4. It's either 200Mb all-I, or 50Mb (or AVCHD).

If they don't add a 4:2:2 option between now and release, I definately see that new BMD recorder in my future...

    The JVC LS300 doesn't come with a lens & is $4k. DVX200 will come with a 13x lens & isn't that much more.

Yes the JVC is S35 vs MFT, but Panasonic has had a much better track record of excellent image quality than JVC has. Until there is a AF200, I honestly think it would be great if these two cameras can work well together on the same shoot, but if not they are different cameras for different shooters.
Where are all the S-VHS hipsters?

I agree, the current feature set makes a $4,200-$4,700-ish price tag fairly reasonable.

How did you come up with that gut price? The lens alone is likely worth $2,000.00. The Panasonic HC-X1000 Is $3,200 and that has a 1/2.3" sensor and nowhere near as good of a camera. The Sony PXW-Z100 is $5,500.00 and also only has a 1/2.3" sensor. The sensor on the DVX200 is 4x larger which means significantly better low light performance.

Without a doubt the DVX200 is worth darn penny for $5,000.00.
