I hav a client who like me to provide a live feed to a projector for an evening event. Just wondering what it would entail to do so with my DVX. Any suggestions or personal experiences?
Thanks

Is it a single-camera setup? How big is the venue? Does your client want sound as well?
What type of gig is it? Having a camera run hot the entire time without being able to switch back and fourth with at least another camera could look pretty rough, depending on what your subject is. What would you be filming?
How long is it? You're either going to need a big battery, or a direct plugin to the wall, and the plugin could really limit your movement. You'dd have to put yourself on an extension cord, and carry that around with you.
have anyone else helping you with this event? they'd need to grip for you

..It is a set shot of a dance floor wide, 500 people at a club. No movement and I would have the option to plug in for power. No sound needed. Its more for visual eye candy. They will provide the tech and screen. They just want me to show up with a camera.

Cool, just wanted to make sure.....now can I use 24(f5) and my normal settings? I just found out they are using plasmas.....can I shoot in squeeze mode will the feed through the TV understand the widescreen format? I would hate to have pan and scan bars on the side of a live feed.

You can shoot at 24p.
If the plasmas are widescreen, then you're golden. Otherwise, you'll have to go check out the tv's before your gig and see if they can do a 16x9 mode on there (I know mine has a button that you press and it smashes down the image).
