ok, so my first diet pepsi spec was attacked like crazy, people hated it, so my response, post again, another cola, why? dunno, I like different types of colas, Rc has been a fav since I was young, reminds me of the old school drinks, I wanna call it pop.

anyways a real artist puts his stuff where critics can make opinions, I wouldn't want to hide my work, whether it sucks or not, so hopefully it's better then the last, if not, I'll keep posting.

haha! when the chick takes down the dude at the beginning!!! man that was hilarious. wham! wham! wham! he's down! karang!
the music makes the parody vibe even better.
not sure if i like the blurryness/slow-mo-ish-ness at times... maybe that's the compression... ??

the payoff is ok. some good cuts, some bad cuts.
and wow! the chick. who's that? can i get her in my movies? :

and who's the dark figure in the background by the keyboard? is that a triton or trinity?

overall, it was fun. i watched it 5 times! this forum needs more parody!
    up the irons!
you need darkness in order for there to be light. look to the west...

It seemed kind of cool, but much of it was too dark for me to see. Compression?
They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care; They pursued it with forks and hope. They threatened its life with a railway share; They charmed it with smiles and soap.

    LOL
    Marriage therapy?!
I must be an idiot, I didn't pay much attention to the name of the thread, so I was totally surprised when i could *FINALLY* make out the text in the end.
That's pretty hilarious...They looked like they were going to dance for a sec.

I agree. Kudos if it's parody. Even if it's not, there's a lot of raw potential there. It wouldn't take much more than a seasoned crew to make that look great.

And just to cross reference the PEPSI post...you can't tell me that you can't see that commercial on tv with a diff cast and perhaps a brighter location....
EASILY a good one for the college crowd...a fat guy and his jock roommate...
and talk about versatility...i wouldn't have guessed that his next flick would involve a fight scene.

    Keep grinding that axe..

    And now for the criticism:
I think your DVX could do so much more for you. Keep playing around with the different gamma settings. You used so much black and such dramatic lighting that you fell victim to the infamous muddy blacks syndrome. (oh yes, there's a SYNDROME!)
I think you should have rim lights in almost all of those shots.
Also, depending on your editing software, try that final shot of the product without the WORDS spazzing like that. It's just too difficult to read (or, have the shaking end sooner with more time to read the still text).

IS THAT A BOLEX I SEE IN THE BACK?! What the HECK?

Nice closeups of your guy actor...next time, when you use a closeup like that, don't just do it for the heck of a close shot, give us something to see...like a great facial expression, or a look of fear or worry or confidence...don't just bring us closer for no reason. I just don't buy (or can't tell) what he's thinking or looking at, or what he thinks about what he's looking at.

I love the hidden face with the hair.
(heck, i love that WOMAN...*watch out for the big girls!*...what a coincidence, my T-sirt says "I LOVE NERD LOVERS") anyway, she's great too, and her face is interesting. I'd have liked a close up of those eyes behind the bangs.
Also her POV shot feels too long. A lot of the shots feel too long. If you had some quicker cuts of the real action-both of them getting banged up-it'd tighten this whole thing up.
Part of the reason that some of the fighting doesn't sell is because you give us too much time to see that it's fake.
And the music sounds too cheesy alone...try editing to the music more to make those kicks smoother.

    that's all for now...
this is much better than the pepsi commercial!
Hopefully Coke will BLOW US AWAY!!!
    LOL
I think Jesus would shoot digital...

the fake fighting is what makes this so hilarious!!!!
the more i watch it, the more i laugh.
if the fighting wasn't fake, it'd be lame lame lame.
    ...
    ...
    lame.

: thanks for your comments, really wish my .mac account would allow me to put up a more higher quality clip for you guys, they only let me compress the clip at 10 frames per second, with low quality sound, the original clip I shot was CRISP and CLEAN, where as the one you have viewed is muddy and muffled.

if i find another way to post the RC Cola and Diet Pepsi spec clips with much better quality i'll definately repost the clips, hey you never know, my reviews might have been a lot better. if someone has any ideas how I can post at a higher compression rate with .mac or another way, let me know, i'm not too knowledgeable on the whole compression stuff.

HAPPY SHOOTINGS, DVX SHOOTING THAT IS...

definately an improvement from the last one, it reminds me off some of the stuff i used to do in high school. I like the close zoom i t kind of matched the music.

    Just some tips:
    1. IF you gonna use techno , match the kick with the cuts.
    2. more lighting
    3. the text was hard to read

overall i like it!! keep up the hard work, your making good progress man!

these days, if you don't do martial arts right on screen, it'll never work. there's waaaaay too many martial arts b-movies out there that just SUCKS and your RC cola clip was about to fall right into it. and using techno music is like.. the worst you can do for martial arts.
And most martial artists sorta forget that wearing sweats and looking like Tiger Schulman's or the latest fad from KARATE, KUNG-FU magazine will not work. that's like the darn cheesiest thing you can ever do. I hate those black sweats that creep up to your chest.
good work. and yes it was too dark.

wow, seemed i was the only chap that liked the old pepsi spec commercial this guy made, now I know why.

this rc spec is so hilarious, I hope the "critics" have taken a look at this piece, I did notice all the people who squashed the s*%t out of his first work didn't comment ONE DAMN BIT, just noticed is all.

i guess i'm just a critic of the critics...

suggestion. make a 7 up ninja commercial.

How 'bout a Tae-Bo Tab commercial? ... Pepsi Pilates?

If you wanna be able to shoot fight scenes more dynamically, then check this... http://www.kbproducts.com/

I can highly reccomend it and I dare say Barry Green would too. ;)
Practice safe filmmaking; use a concept.
