What's the verdict on best film look with the Z1? Do I use CF25 as apposed to 50i then applying a filter in post. I read that CF25 compromises the horizontal resolution but is that not also what happens in post?
I'm shooting this friday and haven't had time to do any tests so am also unsure about the implications of using the cinetone pesets.
Any tips would be appreciated.

CF25 deinterlaces in camera.
This lowers the potential resolution of the shot by a factor of 2 vertically. Doing an adaptive deinterlace in post can reduce this resolution loss. I posted a description of what I think the benefits of CF25 are here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=49825
The "black stretch" cinetone setting gives more detail in the shadow areas. The other cinetone setting crushes blacks and icreases the contrast of the image. Which (if either) you should work with will depend on your subject matter and the lighting at the time. For example, on an foggy day crushing the blacks may be useful to get image out of the fog. On a sunnier day, the black stretch may be useful to get detail in shadow areas.implications of using the cinetone pesets
