You can use the web only version of Adobe Story. Way better than Celtx.

Trelby is great! I used it to write my last feature on Ubuntu and then Windows. I'm sad it hasn't seen an update in about a year.

Good to hear. I'm excited about having a more functional OS on my Chromebook too

    A Chromebook is not a Web-only device. It is a Web-browser-only device.

There used to be little difference. But since HTML 5 there is. HTML 5 brought offline use, local file saving, etc.

Apps like Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and even GMail can work offline now, then sync to the cloud once there's an Internet connection again.

This has nothing to do with screen writing, but the Chromebooks have come a long way in the last year.

I use the PC-based version of Celtx v. 2.9.1. Not only on my PC, but also on my Netbook. Don't know if it would run on Chrome, but I'd be glad to send you the installation file.

Got distracted today and found this:
    https://www.writerduet.com/

Says it works fine on a chromebook, might be worth investigating.
