I just wanted to throw my observation when watching this trailer. IMO this film actually has a look very close to what I see with the F3. Feel free to call me crazy but I watched this trailer and was convinced I was going to check the tech specs on IMDb and find out it was shot on an F55 or something, but it was actually done with Alexa and Epic. Perhaps it was the way it was colored?

Check it out, doesn't it look like something from an F3?

smooth smooth highlights and gradations on those skin tones, tall tell signs of Alexa for sure.

I bet all the outdoor stuff shot with Alexa and maybe the baby photo sessions shot with RED (where lighting was far more controlled).

You think so Dennis? I thought the daylight shots looked especially crispy and Sony-ish. I can usually tell the Alexa but this one I wasn't sure. It's always fun to try to guess. I can't watch a movie without checking IMDb tech specs! LOL

The overall look is certainly characteristic of the Sony look (with the regular gammas), or more of a reality/ENG kind of color palette. The grading is obviously intentional to look like video.

Odd though it was shot with Alexa and Red, if they knew this was the look they were going for. I suspect a decision was made in post to go for the video look so the colorist made it so.

Looks like a lot of fun! I see what you mean by the colours though, they do look a bit more 'frank' than what you usually see out of the Epic or Alexa, and I suppose that's always been a bit of a hallmark of Sony's out-of-box look.

On a side note, are red-band trailers finally no longer a thing? Just based on dude's line (if I heard it right) "You called the cops, you violated the circle of trust f&cker," but it's not labeled as red-band, so based on that we now simply have the internet version of the trailer and the version for the theater...? so...yeah.

    Justin,

As it was a "Robert De Niro Party", that was a quote from Meet The Parents / Meet the Fockers . Red Band trailers are still alive and well.

Funny though I remember thinking the same thing regarding the color when I saw this trailer the first time, very interesting choice.
