Hey sorry folks - sorry we aren't going to make this one.

While (ironically now that we're not finishing on time) the return of Horror Fest was the impetus for me to make my first short in 3 years - to adopt a "no excuses make something now" attitude, post was just too much of a beast on this one, and our excuse for not releasing it now is that: folks have worked too hard on it, and it's coming together too well in some aspects to rush it to release and short change the details and over look the nuances to just hit the release date. And this thing has a lot of small moving parts - many small/invisible VFX shots and tonal notes and beats that have to hit just right. Tonally it's pretty strange and (I hope) unique so we also need some time to make sure we've got that tone right as well before we lock things and let Herman Witkam do his magic. This thing is very dependent on music (as per the odd tone comment) and because it's based on implying more than showing anything.

Anyway - despite how cool it would be to have been part of the fest again, we want to finish it "just right" rather than "just in time". Maybe we'll see if we can release some chunks or teasers sooner rather than later.

Let us know if you want to help test screen a rough cut - and I look forward to just watching other folks' films.

    Best,

    Jack
