Ahhh. I have to wait for November. Why announce it now?

It's not uncommon to announce upcoming firmware features a bit early - but more realistically, they didn't want Sony to have all the thunder today. It's a reminder from Canon that they are still committed to their customers & product development (albeit at a pace traditionally slower than other manufacturers).

Probably because IBC thats coming up in a few days. Canon annouced some of these a few months ago and added even more to the firmware update. We could see a few more before the release in Oct/Nov/Dec.

Great announcement. The ability to shift magnification is HUGE. One of the biggest features I have been clamoring for. The enhanced iso is going to be awesome too. Will open up some crazy possibilities (even if it doesn't look fantastic it will be freaking cool haha).

if it had announced 720P 50p for the C100, I'd have bought two of them...as it is I just cannot justify buying them as my all round cameras because I need them for Sports too.

I know this gets old, but if 60fps at full HD was possible I sure wish it could be added to the C100 and just full HD with the C300.

I just sold my boat last night and freed up some cash. I was excited when I saw this thread, but alas, no slow motion for the c100. Then I go back to look at the FS700 and now they have removed the included Metabones adapter, so essentially, the price of the FS700 just went UP $500. Ugh. I'm going to rent an FS700 on the weekend to play with in the field for wildlife and see how I like it.

Canon are no different to a lot of Technology Companies....they plan a few models ahead...somewhere in one of their Tech Labs is the C200 with these features on it.

Camera cycles mean we can't wait around forever though.....just got to plan around it.
