I just got a Panasonic AC 90 and when I put the files into the PC it has a take number / date / time of date stamp displayed on
the files to be edited. (which I don't want)

If I look on the viewfinder in play, those items don't appear, they also don't appear on the video O/P if
    its plugged into a monitor.

Is it a camera setting or is a problem going
into the editing / viewing program?

Are you are talking about it displaying on playback a date stamp visible on screen? Sounds like a setting on your NLE/Viewer. I've never seen that on any of the viewers I have used or on FCPX.

The only thing I see in the manual (Vol 2) on page 66 is a date stamp that is specific to viewing the files in camera. It sounds like you're seeing a date stamp in your NLE. Seems odd.
