    INTERSTELLAR:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816692/

Will it be more mind-blowing than INCEPTION, in your honest opinion?

Can a Mod move this to "film discussion"? Didn't realize that sub-forum existed.

I think this has more potential than Inception. Don't get me wrong, I loved Inception, but at the end of the day it was kind of a gimmick. This is obviously much more "hard sci-fi", delving into ideas that can challenge our perception of reality. It will be interesting to see whether Nolan finally tries to break free of the mold and make a truly challenging film, or whether this will be yet another very well made big-budget action film that he does so well. If he wants to ever be considered an artistically important filmmaker, then I hope he tries to push it. Either way, I know I will enjoy this movie.

I think Nolan has made a few challenging films already. I feel Inception is one of them. Memento definitely. Following was amazing as well. I totally understand what you mean by "hard sci-fi" though. He's never tackled something as blatantly sci-fi as this premise... hopefully, it'll be in the vain of his earlier works, relying more on story structures than being a big-budget action film. It's interesting 'cause this time around he'll collaborate with a new DP, Jessica Chastain (she's a GREAT talent), and Steven Speilberg is in the mix too -- wondering how much could that effect Nolan's vision this time around. Either way, I am stoked for this.

I think The Prestige fits in there as well.

After looking at this teaser I'm wondering how Sci-fi this will be.

Consider me successfully teased by that teaser. Very curious about this movie.

    Perhaps more like Contact?

If I were to sum up the teaser: "Matthew McConaughey cries while driving."

Re-reading this thread though, I chuckled again, as I did before, reading this:

Ah DVXuser, how I love thee.

Perhaps Contact meets The Right Stuff set during a near future great depression.

I didn't care for Inception. It didn't look like the dream it was supposed to be, it looked like a James Bond movie. Adn the ending was just lazy. It was all a dream. Or was it? Bleh.

I think this movie will be good if what we saw in the trailer is in the first 15 minutes of the movie, and the rest of the movie is about what they find past the worm hole. If the last shot of the movie is going through the worm hole, so we the audience can just wonder what's out there...bleh.
