The Ikan D7W is very nice... I bought it for the waveform graph, which works very well. I had to take a scalpel to the NP-F battery adapter to make the batteries fit, but apart from that, it's great.

Atticus, question about your D7W. Does the signal pass thru from one input to the other output? Meaning if you go HDMI in does it send the signal out the SDI, and vice versa?

What did you not care for about the D7W? Is the picture on the DP6 so much better that is better than having waveform?

I felt like waveform is nice but dp6's pros are way more than its cons (no waveform, rgb parade, etc) It boots in no time. focus assist is really cool. Picture quality is better. GREAT sunhood. Built like a TANK. Easy to navigate/ user friendly. And I can go on and on.

If you don't need the waveform I just picked this one up $349 including shipping

Amazing price and the image quality is gorgeous. I got the HDMI version. IKAN rebrands this monitor as the VX7i ; http://ikancorp.com/productdetail.php?id=564

Right now the best res panels in the 7" range is 1280 x 800 and this monitor gets you there for $350. That is unbelievable, I am thinking of getting a second unit. If you require a waveform you might want to consider the Marshall 9"

It's a pig on batteries but it's big and well featured. It doesen't have RGB parade though.

    Good luck in your search

SmallHD6 images is just ok -colors are ALWAYS on the warm side so yo can never use the monitor to fully judge.
And the sunshade is horrendous to attach to the monitor - so much so that i'm selling mine if interested (used only twice) for $40.

Would i buy SmallHD6 again - i don't know - i would have to research all the options out there again.

I think the sunshade for the dp6 is absolutely fantastic in every way. One of the best features in my opinion.
