Dying is easy. Comedy is hard. Especially when it involves Private Dicks (of the trench coat variety), or President Dicks (of the Nixon variety).

I never understood why folks as rule think comedy is harder than other genres. I has its challenges, but so does pulling off a truly good thriller. Or an engaging drama.

I was kinda hoping a Christmas fest (or Winter Solstice if Christmas isn't your thing) to line up with a film fest. Seeing how last year's Christmas fest is still up as current, I don't see that happening.

What the hell happend to these fests?

Yeah time is pressing, not really enough time to do a scriptfest, judge then film an entry before Dec 25. Christmas in July, maybe...

There's enough time to do a christmas themed user-driven scriptfest if we get on it. Say 1-8 pages, open category as long as it has a christmas connection. Doesn't have to be christian-based, could be a reaction to christmas of a non-participant, could be hanukkah or just a significant connection to the date Dec 25, whatever. Deadline, say Dec 19 so we can read them in between holiday preparations? Roughly a month.

Now all I need is an idea. I hate christmas. Haven't celebrated in 20+ years. I wonder if I can challenge myself to a saccarine sweet tale of joy and wonder...?
