AF101 and Atomos Ninja (older model) - records video but no sound

We have a Panasonic Af101 (PAL) that we want to use with Atomos Ninja connected via HDMI. WEeare able to record video onto the Ninja with no problem, however no sound is recorded onto Ninja. Ive searched in both the menu of the camera and of the Ninja.

This May seem like a silly question ,but do we have to send audio t Ninja under a separate connection? Excuse me if this question has been posted here and asnwered. I searched the forum and contacted Atomos, to no avail.

No separate connection is needed. Have you installed the latest firmware for the Ninja?

Are you using variable frame rate mode? No audio is recorded when the camera is in VFR mode.
