Hey guys, this might seem to be a newbie question. But what kind of light do you think they used on the back of the band?

Is it the light that create this horizontal line or is post effect I wonder??

Its done in postprocessing as effect on your example, but originally this effect is from anamorphic lens which is associated with big budget films and its overused now for no reason.

Could be anything, as stated above the effect is from anamorphic lenses but can be done in post as well. The fixture doesn't really matter, although a cyc light would be rather wasteful in this instance since the majority of the output would be directed up and not out horizontally.

If I don't have an anamorphic lens, do you think I still can achieve the same effect through post??

It can be done as a post effect (if you have the computing power) or with a simple Streak filter. We rent and sell these filters.

The light is a Nook Light, the anamorphic flare was probably done in post. People should shoot anamorphic glass more often.
