    FS700 LCD not working
    #1

I lost the image on the lcd screen of my FS700. I was using a Liliput LCD monitor hooked via HDMI.
I lost the main lcd while erasing some files. I still have the image on the liliput but nothing on the camera.

I reseted the camera, wich allowed me to see the actual settings in the liliput, but I still get nothing on the lcd monitor

Any Ideas ? I might have to re-install the firmware, but then again where could I find it for download ?
We are on set so quick response would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks boys.

Hey Vinyl Stax, did you ever figure out what was wrong? Were you able to get it working again?

    Hey Guys,

    Just to follow up.
The LCD simply gave up on us and we needed to replace the camera.
Luckily EC Pro Video Systems in NYC is where we bought and they totally made it is super easy for us to deal with the exchange.
Spoke with some SONY techs too and they told me this had never happened before with this cam, ( no surprise I guess since it is so new ) and they were sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
This was my first time dealing with SONy and their official dealers and I must say I am impressed.
If you guys are in NYC and wanna check them out, well talk with Lisa and tell them Pat from Montreal sent you )

The camera was 3 weeks old so not too long at all of course but they could have acted all cocky with us and make it difficult if they wanted.

    Either way.
We are not plugging any Lilliputs in this camera ever

We are now using the Marshall on the replaced body and it works flawlessly.

    Word of advice :
Try to avoid Lilliput when working with FS700.
Not too much trouble there since whoever can afford and works with the FS line can probably afford to rent or buy a decent field screen.
We just had no choice that day and I kinda regret it.
Of course there is no concrete proof or hint what may have caused the damage but just to be on the safe side. Keep that in mind.
Be delicate when plugging the screen for the first time I guess, since our camera's LCD died when we did that.

    Thoughts on the camera ?

    Loving it so far.
A bit picky on the highlights and needs to be tamed but getting more comfortable as days go by.
Flirting with gammas a bit but trying to let it kinda speak for itself for now.
Did one full weekend of green screen work on it and keying turns out much better than from any DSLR cam we have used in the past.
It is got a clean look to it as some have mentioned but I prefer clean with that quality than the DSLR cinematic look out of the box but so muddy in post.
Making FS700 look cinematic is really easy too.
Will try to post some examples soon.

    cheers !
