Chris, Yes Some people at You tube has comment About the AC-130 Problems, I guess since I don't have it that the zoom 22x is too much.
Leica glass shines, However my wide angle adapter from Panasonic seems to be a very good glass. Feels good to know there is a Leica glass in your camera any way.
Personally I'll remain with this line of Panasonic cameras, I mean if there is a HMC50 for example would add it to my kit for sure.
Is already 3 years since the HMC40 was born. I don't see a Pal model in USA for the HMC40, However the HMC80 is available at BH

    Personally find gorgeous the HMC80.

    Hi Felipe

I really love my HMC82's (same as the 80 but a PAL camera) The audio with XLR is really good too. They are heavy!! 3.2kg with a battery and receivers but I have use shoulder mount cams since I started video 22 years ago so they feel natural for me..I also use a spring rod on a mini ballhead from just under the lens down to a waist belt..that makes for handheld shots that are as good as tripod ones!! Yeah if Panasonic come out with an HMC50 or HMC90..I want one!!! I'd like however to have a smaller camera for the stedicam as the 80 is a bit heavy to balance ...that's why I was looking to get a PAL 40 but sadly we have none here!! I was also thinking about using an AC7 but I'm worried it only has a single chip!! It's a lot lighter than the 80..only 1.8kg!!

    Chris

AC7 HAS ONLY 1 chip, Only 60i, 17 MBS NOT 24 LIKE HMC40, Panasonic Lens not Leica, Not progressive, Not 60P, No lanc control, Not XLR, has not Scene modes like those in HMC40, like cine gamma , or DRS,
And not many many other tools.
    I'll wait for the HMC50 or 90

I watched your video a second time and it hit me, "Strong Machine" is an English phrase, not Spanish. I'm surprised that they didn't use a Spanish phrase like, "Máquina Fuerte".

Yes Bob the name of the company is Strong Machine, I guess is because as Importers that they are , they want to show with its name that they bring machines from overseas.
Is very common here Companies using names in English, as well as restaurants, or even people with English names despite that they are born here.
Not only here , that happens all around Latin America.
Any way you could call it lack of identity .
