When I was scanning these posts, I thought it said "GENITAL lighting system" and I was kind of intrigued... is it FOR lighting your junk, or does it turn your stuff into a light source??

Then I clicked and understood.

I've found a lot of uses for those 85 watt and up giant CFLs - they do kick out a lot of light. You really need to test them though, it's not really "great" light without some minor gelling, and different brands have different needs. I shoot raw stills with them and eyedropper the RGB values - very easy to see their specific color casts and come up with a gel strategy. Mark the gels needed right on the ballast-base with a sharpie for extra credit.
