Hello. I have been watching the FZ200 for few days, since I am planning to buy it as my portable-fast action B camera ( apart from my GH2 ). It has some very interesting specs, but I am afraid about low light capability... Do you think that Vitallyi would/should hack the DMC-FZ200?

Hi i have the FZ150 as well as the GH2,i dont think there is a great deal of difference performance wise between the new 200 and the 150,compared to the GH2 my FZ150 cant compete video wise ,resolution etc, plus the GH2 and fast lenses has far better low light .
What is realy good on the F150 though is its 24x lens and lossless to the eye i zoom,if a 1.6 screw in lens is used the zoom for nature work is very good.
Personaly i doubt any of the hack experts would think of hacking the FZ200 .

I left a reply in personal view, asking about the 30 min limit removal and Vitalyi said it's very probable it will get some kind of hack. It seemed he was very excited about the FZ200, so I'm guessing it will be hacked, and maybe in not too long a time.

    The 720p @ 120 FPS mode is very intriguing. I would love to be able to get 50% of the performance of a hacked GH2 + 12-35mm F2.8 + 35-100mm F2.8 + 100-300mm F2.8(Doesn't exist in m4/3s) for $599.

That is very good news. Another tip o' the hat to Vitaliy.

One of Panasonic's competitive advantages in P&S over Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc. has been unlimited clip length. It is one of the reasons (in addition to the mic jack) that I picked the FZ150 over the Sony HX100V.

It is a competitive advantage in DSLMs too. I hope they don't do anything this stupid with the NTSC version of the GH3.

Except the constant 2,8 zoom which is awesome. 24-600mm 2.8 damn.

I am completely unsure of it, but I think i read somewhere the FZ200 has a new sensor, and combined with f/2.8 I would guess it will be better in low light than the FZ150. To be honest, after seeing few vids shot with the FZ200, I am more worried about it's image quality, I don't think that without a higher bitrate hack it could match footage from GH2. I hope so much it will, with that zoom range and f stop I was thinking of replacing my AC-160 with the FZ200...

    Assume it wont be.
i expect it to have low dynamic range & moire.
Its amazing for stills though. Great for sport/outdoor stills.
