GH2 and ATR35s - lav mic issues.

I connected my audio technica atr35s to my hacked Gh2 - 3.5 stereo to 2.5mm stereo adaptor, but the audio is terrible. Very low and lots of hiss. I've boosted the gain via the camera but still no joy. This mic is powered by a button cell battery with a new battery.

Works great on my HS700 panny.

Off hand, I'd say your adapters are the problem. Plugging a mono mic into a stereo input is an evil thing to do. There is no love there.
